Magnus Ryde
Chairman & Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Ryde has more than 20 years of experience in the semiconductor industry. Most recently, he served as president of TSMC (Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company), North America. Previously, Ryde was a corporate officer and vice president at KLA-Tencor responsible for worldwide sales, service and support. Before the KLA-Tencor merger, he held several senior positions with KLA, including vice president and general manager of worldwide service and vice president of operations. Earlier, he worked in various marketing, manufacturing and engineering positions at KLA in Europe.
Ryde holds a M.S. in Industrial Engineering from Stanford University. He is on the board of Micronic Laser System AB of Sweden.
Patrick M. Smith Vice President - Design & Test Engineering
Before joining FlexICs, Dr. Smith worked at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, where he was a staff scientist with the Thin Film Transistors (TFTs) on plastic program funded by the U.S. Department of Defense, Defense Advanced Research Project Agency (DARPA). With an expertise in laser processing, Smith developed the techniques and systems for fabricating TFTs on plastic. Smith also designed the electrical characterization and device test systems to evaluate TFT and circuit performance. He is a co-founder of FlexICs.
Smith holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in Applied Physics from Harvard.
 Paul G. Carey Vice President - Process Development
Dr. Carey comes to FlexICs from Applied Materials, where he served as director of advanced annealing technology. Previously, Carey worked at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory developing low temperature and pulsed laser semiconductor processing technology. There he worked on a Defense Advanced Research Project Agency (DARPA) program for the Department of Defense to fabricate TFTs on plastic. With an expertise in process development and integration, Carey developed the first CMOS process flow with laser doped source/drain regions. He is a co-founder of FlexICs and has been a technical advisor to the company since its inception.
Carey has a Ph.D. in Materials Science Engineering from Stanford University and a M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley. He has written technical papers that have appeared in more than 40 publications and holds seven patents with additional patents pending.
 Paul Wickboldt Vice President - Equipment Engineering
Prior to joining FlexICs, Dr. Wickboldt worked at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, where he was staff scientist with the Thin Film Transistors (TFTs) on plastic program funded by the U.S. Department of Defense, Defense Advanced Research Project Agency (DARPA). With an expertise in thin film deposition and characterization techniques, he designed and built cluster tools and sputtering systems that are key to TFTs on plastic manufacturing.
Wickboldt holds a Ph.D. and a M.S. in Applied Physics from Harvard. He is the architect of the U.S. Display Consortium's web/roll project.
 Len Marsh
Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Marsh has more than 25 years of experience in accounting and finance for high tech companies. Before joining FlexICs, he provided financial management consulting services to several technology start ups in the San Francisco Bay area. Previously, he served as Chief Financial Officer for computer graphics distributor, ITC Technologies. Marsh also has held finance and accounting positions with Media Technology Corporation and Verbatim Corporation.
Marsh holds a M.B.A. from San Jose State University and is a Certified Management Accountant.
 Heiner J. Eichermueller
Vice President - Operations
Mr. Eichermueller has 20 years of experience in the semiconductor industry. Most recently, he served as vice president of worldwide manufacturing for Siemens Solar Industries, establishing and overseeing the production of monocrystalline silicon solar cells and modules at eight facilities worldwide. Eichermueller also has held several senior manufacturing management positions at Siemens Semiconductor and Fairchild Semiconductor that required him to establish new factories in Germany and France.
Eichermueller has a M.S. in Physics from the University of Regensburg in Germany.
 Kang Sun
Vice President - Business Development
Dr. Sun has 15 years of experience in building alliances and developing businesses worldwide. Before joining FlexICs, he was a managing partner of Index Technology Group, where he developed and executed financing, licensing, partnership and acquisition agreements. Previously, Sun held several executive positions at Honeywell International (AlliedSignal), including vice president of new business ventures of the company's $2 billion Performance Polymers Business. Sun also has held senior management and engineering positions with Oce, Polaroid and IBM.
Sun holds a Ph.D. in Materials Science from Brown University and a M.S. in Physical Chemistry from the University of Georgia.
